  1. Indeed, this is precisely why an automated attempt won't work: an AI wouldn't know. I fear that best results would be obtained through manual/"artistic" work, obviously this means much more workload, sadly.
  2. Honestly, despite it being a clear issue that i hope to be tackled (I'm talking about both textures and polygons), I'm skeptical that they would go back to restore older assets.
  3. Great to see texture quality being improved, mods like this are much needed but it seems to me that this mod improves textures only where there are already details, making them less blurry, but it won't add any on previously flat textures. This actually increases the gap between the graphic quality of BoBp cockpits and the ones of the previous titles. I hope that at some point in the future someone will find a feasible way to improve older planes to the standard of the new ones. In the meantime, thanks to all the modders working hard for the community.
  4. Didn't actually hoped for it... As a guy who actually "enjoys" more WWI, thank you very much!
  5. I will try my luck with a "9"!
  6. Excuse my ignorance, I just assumed they weren't. Yes, fantastic! Thank you very much.
  7. As I said in another thread, I find FW 190 D9 too battered up and in a bad condition. As my skinning skills are pretty low, I wish to request a "fixed" version of the standard skin, one with holes over wings, machine gun cowling, etc. plugged. Is there anyone willing to do it? Thanks in advance. https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/54280-on-the-state-of-fw-190-d9/?tab=comments#comment-825976
  8. Yes, I was talking about the way the aircraft is represented, not the 3d model itself, which is definitely a step up from earlier planes. Other than that, I agree with you. Yes, that is what I was looking for. Great to know, thank you!
  9. I am aware of that, never I said those were bullet holes. Still, holes are present that are not in other axis planes so that it feels "unfinished". Then again, the problem is the disparity between planes, not the unfinished-ness per se.
  10. Thanks for the answer. It makes sense. Still, would there be a way to mod the 3d model and "fix" it for, let's say, "show" reasons? (Seems unlikely as it raises several issues but never say never)
  11. Yes, indeed. My main concern is that it feels "different" compared to the other german planes in BoBP. For example the A8 is in a better condition.
  12. I have noticed that the D9 looks much more battered up than the rest of the german BoBP planes. I mean in particular the "holes" on the wings, the machine gun cowling and the airframe. I know the developers meant to show the lack of resources for Germany in late war but it feels odd and incongruous as is just the Dora that is in such a bad shape. I don't mean to dismiss the work of the Il2 team, in fact the recent airplanes are lovely and getting better and better but I love the Dora and it feels strange flying it as it is. Anyone else feels the same? Am I missing something? Is there something to be done, maybe with mods? By the way, the recent update is great. Thanks for the attention.
  13. Just passing by to say I really wish a WWI italian/austrian theater for Flying Circus vol. 2, if it will ever happen.
  14. Type of improvements: graphics Explanation of proposal: improve the graphic effect of fast rotating propeller blades, both in external and in cockpit view, now they appear too static and the painted tips should appear as a distinct ring when moving. Benefit: increased realism of an element that is actually always in your sight. Regards.
