  1. A quick look in Google Earth is enlightening. This isn't sand dune country.
  2. No, that's what they'll actually do, not what they'll try to do!
  3. You know what absolutely everybody is going to try to do, don't you?
  4. Nice basic tutorial there! All you actually need is a new intro and changing out a few words, and it's a perfectly acceptable tutorial for Bos/BoM
  5. Layered skin templates (including for I-16) here: http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/13615-skin-templates-links/ Skinning resources here (profiles, markings): http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/13463-skinning-resources/
  6. Another markings file, this time early style hand-painted numbers for the VVS. These should be suitable for both BoM and BoS era skins. Each digit is 350 px tall, suitable for the large templates of the current sim. Download link: http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=249 Enjoy!
  7. Notice the slight difference in how the paint present the pigment ever so slightly different depending on surface:
  8. A nice site showing the internal and surface structure of an I-16 under reconstruction, should be useful for the skinners: http://www.aero-restauration-service.fr/en/achievements/realisations.php?id=146 It does for instance look like the whole wing, plywood parts and all, had a canvas covering, and the plywood surface was only directly visible on the fuselage:
  9. The summer map looks amazing! The transition reveals that the field-tiles don't match up all too well though. The plough furrows in the winter map runs the perpendicular to the directions from the field lay out in the summer map. However, unless the maps are compared tile-for-tile, that won't matter.
  10. The high altitude lighting is magnificent!
  11. I imagine getting transferred to a Sturmovik squadron would be a suitable punishment. No was high command is going to ground an experienced pilot with the losses both air forces took over Stalingrad.
  12. Not being a computer guru (so take what I say with a grain of salt), the logical solution is to make a machine with twin graphic cards, one for each lens/screen/eye. Current systems essentially asks the GPU to run two games at once, which is well beyond the reach of most machines.
