  1. Well, I don’t care what you think, I just made my statements, as you made yours. I respect yours while I do not agree with it and I do not want to change your minds or make you think like I do, so please do the same. Even though I have to admit the OP talks about Bodenplatte, I disgressed on the overall IL-2 picture. I almost exclusively fly Bombers so yes I’m aware of those, Cyber. That’s why as Maverick, I feel the need... the need to fly Fortresses after doing nice and good boyy action with those small Bomb trucks. Time will tell, and I know what creators said. Still I know at some point we’ll have it, no need to spend sweat and fill the forums to show your logical reasonning to prove the contrary. But it’s democracy so we’re free to say whatever we want.

Remind me this day in the coming 5 years, when I’ll lead a 50+ Fort formation heading to Schweinfurt ( yeah I know, they were closer to 1000 + ), of all of you thinking we’ll dogfight and strafe forever.
  3. You are in your own world assuming it’s tactical. It’s not STRATEGIC currently, that does’t mean it won’t ever be. What IL-2 : Battle of X really is : the best WWII Aircraft Sim out there, with huge potential, period.
  4. Well, of course it’s a debate and hopefully everyone is going to defend his positions. Though I do NOT understand why so many experts here speaks in name of developpers, advancing always the same statements. Can’t you understand many people are just fond of the B-17 design, as a very elegant and awesome Airframe on it’s own ? Holy prop, we have like every single variant of the 109 and 190 and those ubiquitous Fighters as well as « What can I actually do with » planes such the Ju-52.. the B-17 definitely has its place. Even though currently not historically accurate, Kuban map is wide enough to be it’s hunting range, period. Optimising stuff to welcome a Flying Fortress must be something in the scope of these geniuses. For those making assumptions that the B-17 is a complex A/C, you just get too much impressed by it. It’s a pretty simple design actually, built to last and to be easily serviceable on field with many interchangeable parts. Pretty straight forwards, it has four engines using superchargers for high alt performances, pretty much like current A-20. I know this plane intimely as studying it for like twenty years, it’s history, design, building, development etc. Probably the most complex stuff to do could be the Norden modeling and integration ( they worked on K-14 Gunsight so they must know their stuff about aiming aids ) and original implementation of multicrew and management system in single player pretty much like B-17 II : The Mighty Eighth was ( still an awesome sim nearly 20 years after ), but for sure if there is such a strong and continious popular demand, it wil come sooner or later. Keep showing your interest dudes ! And I’d personally give 1500 USD just to start the project and encourage others to follow. Hueyman
  5. Wow, thank you very much Peregrine for this NEAT explanation !!!! Now, does anyone occurs same crash as me, on a GTX TITAN ( and various drivers, latest and olders ? ) IL-2 is really unplayable since, I thought I got rid of it... just a thought I'm afraid. Thanks

  7. Yep ! No crash for now... both on and offline, what a delight ;-) So, if anyone is experiencing trouble with nVidias, try DEACTIVATING VSYNC first ! Plus I never found it what VSync actually does, in any game
  8. Well, I just tried something, deactivating VSync, and for now it seems to work ;-)
  9. Yup... This is the message I got : " Fullscreen mode is not available : DXGI_STATUS_OCCLUDED " Then " IL-2 Sturmovik stopped working " I really miss that game aaah ! When I click ok and restart I can play for 5 minutes before display freezes and it crashes Even though all is very smooth at max details

Hi there, I know this has been brought up before, but I tried the fix of reverting to older nVidia drivers... still it isn't stable, and ALWAYS crash, from 5 to 15 mins flying ( especially quick missions dogfights, not much into multiplayer ) Tried different nVidia drivers ( from November to Now ). Windows 10 64 bits I7 3970X @3.5 ghZ nVidia GTX Titan 32GB RAM Thanks for your help guys !
  11. Hi there, I made a big mistake bu purchasing three collector planes on the webstore... while I have a Steam install ! So today I lost 40 bucks and got nothing. The customer support just told me the store keys cannot be used on a Steam install ... What should I do now ? Can't they make those keys unusable, refund me so I can buy via steam instead ? It must have been written somewhere, but apparently not big enough I suppose ... Thanks mates !
  12. Well, the title is quite explicit. Today, if I want realism I have to forget the whole BoS eye candy by not being able to switch external views... And as I only play Campaign and online Hardcore servers, I have the feeling I won't often enjoy the beautiful exterior, airplanes modeling etc ... Any words on this ?
  13. Wow ! I'm speechless, really fine modeling here ! So you're one of the guy making spot on 2D and 3D illustrations for dedicated WWII magazines that we see nowadays in kiosks, with many illustrations and different squadrons markings etc ?
